Initiating a Project

From the user menu, User: [user@domain], select “Projects”, then click the “New project” button.  A project page will appear.  Choose project type (e.g.,WGS). Fill out the required fields (*).  If data analysis services are requested and your species or a close relative has a reference genome or transcriptome that could be used to align DNA or cDNA sequences for SNP calling or gene counting, please supply a link to the desired reference sequence version.  If data analysis services are not requested, leave this field empty.

After you have finished recording relevant project information, check the box at the bottom of the page and press the “submit” button.  When your project has been submitted, additional users (individuals who need access to project information or sequence data) may be added using the “Manage Users” button at the bottom of the project page.

If you need advice or help with project planning, please submit a request via the LIMS messaging system using “Conversations” under the user menu.
